Young Kansas Writers accepts submission of student poetry and prose writing from Kansas students in grades 9-12. Each submission must be accompanied by an entry blank and sponsored by the student's classroom teacher who is a member of KATE.

Please follow the Submission Guidelines and the Entry Form to be considered for publication.

Prose entries must be typed, double-spaced, with inch-and-a-half margins and a maximum of 1500 words.  Poetry should be typed as it would appear in the magazine.  The following must be typed in the upper right hand corner of the entry’s first page:

            City

 

Entries must ALSO be submitted in Word format on a disk.  Please label the disk with your name and the titles of the works you are submitting. Entries will not be returned.  Submissions postmarked after the deadline, March 1, of each year, cannot be considered.   Send entries to:
