Since joining the faculty of the Fashion merchandising and design department
in Aug of 2002, I have taught several core courses for merchandising and design students.
I currently teach Cad: Pattern Drafting, Apparel construction, Tailoring  and Textiles courses. I have also taught Career Options and Marketing Communication for the program. I offer Honors program courses in CAD and Independent study courses in Apparel Construction and CAD: Pattern Drafting.

My main focus at Johnson County Community College is to widen the opportunities that can be offered to the students in my courses. I try to introduce them to areas of fashion they may not have considered, textile research  & development, marketing of their own designs, production of Art garments, the home sewing field, and  other education opportunities. I utilize technology by keeping up on industry developments in the textile and computer fields as they apply to the fashion industry.

Using my design skills, educational, sales and merchandising talents, I try to present the information in a  manner that will open up a new area of interest to our students. By helping them focus their skills, develop new skills and plan for their future, I hope to help them enter the fashion industry.
