Since joining the faculty of the Fashion merchandising and design department
My main focus at Johnson County Community College is to widen the opportunities that can be offered to the students in my courses. I try to introduce them to areas of fashion they may not have considered, textile research & development, marketing of their own designs, production of Art garments, the home sewing field, and other education opportunities. I utilize technology by keeping up on industry developments in the textile and computer fields as they apply to the fashion industry. Using my design skills, educational, sales and merchandising talents, I try to present the information in a manner that will open up a new area of interest to our students. By helping them focus their skills, develop new skills and plan for their future, I hope to help them enter the fashion industry. |
