The Yak-52 combines the warbird, aerobatic and price factors together like no other airplane. I have had an interest in them since before I was a pilot.
My Yak was sent back to the Shakhty overhaul facility in Russia before being shipped via water to the U.S. It arrived in San Diego in July 2000, assembled and flown back to Kansas. Current project - Flying! My newspaper article in the Iola, KS Register (small error on the Yak's speed) More to come! Below you will find several photos documenting the western story...
