Essay 2: Comparison and Contrast
Fall 1997
Assignment: Write an essay of two
typed pages that compares and/or contrasts two web sites. These web
sites must be on the same topic. For example, you may want to choose
two college web sites or two music web sites.
In the introduction of your essay,
you may want to consider the purposes of the two web sites. Your
proposal sentence should suggest what
you hope to accomplish by comparing the two web sites.
The body of your essay should
discuss the likenesses and differences between the two sites. You
will want to consider points like the following:
-
content
-
useful?
-
interesting?
-
insightful?
-
ease of navigation
-
layout
-
uniqueness
Your conclusion should evaluate which
site best fulfills its purpose.
Guidelines:
-
Use The Point-by-Point Method or the Likenesses and Differences
organizational strategy. Do not use The Block Method.
-
You should have a minimum of two paragraphs in the body of your essay.
-

-
Proofread your paper for grammar, punctuation and spelling. Essays
with more than seven major mechanical errors will fail.

them up as I grade your essay.
