Essay 1 Assignment

Fall Semester 1997

Assignment: Revise one of your first three paragraph assignments into an essay. Your essay should be at least two typed pages and include an introduction, body, and conclusion.

Introduction

• should be at least five sentences long
• should end with a proposal sentence

Body

• should be at least two paragraphs long
• each paragraph should be at least eight sentences in length
• each paragraph should have a topic sentence

Conclusion

• should be at least five sentences long
• should suggest a larger context

Due Dates:

Nov. 3, 1997: Peer Review Workshop. Bring a typed rough draft. Come on time.

Nov. 7, 1997: Final draft due. Your essay must be typed and double-spaced. It also needs to have a title.
