Composition II -- Activities for Week 7-- Mar. 1-5, 1999

Monday:

Discussion of Descriptive Synthesis assignment and partial sample synthesis.
Show me your prewriting outlines and begin writing one body paragraph.
Homework: Complete a typed rough draft for Wednesday's Peer Review Workshop. This draft does not have to be completely finished, but it should at least have an introduction and a minimum of two body paragraphs.

Wednesday:

Peer Review Workshop
Homework: Complete a typed finished draft of the Descriptive Synthesis for Friday. This draft is worth 15 points. To receive all fifteen points your draft must follow the assignment (i.e. be a descriptive synthesis), be a minimum of 750 words, and incorporate at least three outside sources. Any draft turned in late will receive 0 out of the 15 available points. This draft (with my comments on it) is a necessary part of the portfolio, so all students must turn in drafts before the portfolio is due.

Friday:

Draft of Descriptive Synthesis due at the beginning of class.
Discussion of Portfolio 1. Bring your draft of the comparison/contrast draft, and come ready to begin revising it.
Homework: Revise comparison/contrast draft for Portfolio 1.
