This page
will be under construction throughout the entire semester, so you will want to check here
often for new material. On this page you will find the class notes for each week.
There are also links for the syllabus and the essay assignments -- when they are
assigned. The main purpose of this page, however, is to act as a supplement to the Norton
Anthology of English Literature. I will place links for many of the authors we
will be studying on this page. I will not attempt to list every World Wide Web page
available for a particular author. (If you want a comprehensive WWW site that provides
hundreds of literary links, check The
Voice of the Shuttle for starters). I will choose sites that best provide
background on the author and the time period in which he lived. I will also choose a
