completed a subject tree for that topic.
Friday:
-
We will spend the entire hour writing. First, finish writing your
paragraphs for the portfolio. Each paragraph should
be between 6 and 10 sentences in length.
-
The first paragraph should discuss your attitude toward writing. You might
consider the following questions:
-
What fears and challenges have you overcome this semester?
-
What new things did you learn about the writing process?
-
Which assignment proved the most helpful to you?
-
Which part of the writing process (prewriting, drafting, peer review, revising,
editing) do you enjoy the most?
-
What are some things about writing that you are still give you some discomfort?
Grammar, development of topic, coming up with a topic, etc.
-
The second paragraph should discuss your feelings about Composition I.
-
How prepared are you for Composition I? What do you know about the
writing process that will help you next semester?
-
What will be some challenges that you will face in that class? Do
you feel ready to write only essays now?
-
How well do you expect to do in Composition I?
-
These paragraphs are due at the end of the hour. Be sure to grammar
and spell check them. Also, proofread them on your own carefully.
Do not put your name on them because I will staple them right into your
portfolio. Any paragraphs not turned in
at the end of the hour will be counted as late, and those students will
not receive the full points possible on the portfolio.
-
If you finish your portfolio paragraphs before the
class is over, you should work on your argumentation essay.
-
Homework: Read
Chapter Seven: "Argumentation" (pages 216-240).
