Week Four: Sep. 8 - 12
Have you completed the assessment
test and any modules from the Writing Center? Remember, you must
complete the assessment test and four modules by the beginning of Week
6 -- That's two weeks away!
Monday:

Proofreading and Editing of Descriptive Paragraph.
You must bring a typed draft for Monday.

Grammar Review -- fragments. (Pages 329-345)

Homework:
-
Complete one journal entry this week at home.
By the end of this week, you should have three journal entries -- each
at least a page long.

Finish Descriptive Paragraph for Wednesday.
This draft will be due at the beginning of class. Any paper turned
in after I collect them will be counted as late. Your paragraph should
be between 10-12 sentences in length, and it should be typed and double-spaced.
Print your draft before you come to class. You need to make two
copies of this draft. One I will grade, and one will go in your pre-portfolio.
Because this paragraph is going into your portfolio, do not put your name
on it. I will give you a cover sheet in class.
Wednesday:

Collect Descriptive Paragraphs.

Introduction of Narrative Paragraph assignment.

Work on Action Vocabulary - pages 36-38.

Grammar Review -- conclude work on fragments and
discuss quotation marks (Pages 391, 400-403)

Friday:

Begin pre-writing for Narrative Paragraph.
