Intro to
Writing Activities for Week 5 -- Sep. 15-19.
Remember -- This is the last week to complete
the assessment test and modules in the Writing Center (EMC 308).
All tests must be completed by the beginning of Week 6.
The procedure once again:
-
Take the assessment test. This will
take about 30-45 minutes. The score you receive on this does not
matter because you cannot take the assessment test over. After you
have taken the assessment test, you will receive 5 points.
-
Begin taking the module tests. You need
to take the first four modules and receive an 80% or
above on each one. If you don't receive an 80%, you'll have to
take it over. There is a review section for each module. Each of
the four module tests is worth 5 points. If you take all four, you'll
receive 20 points -- add this to the 5 point-assessment test, and you'll
receive a 25 out of 25.
-
Only after you have completed the required
assessment test and all four modules may
you then go on to complete the bonus sections. For the bonus
points, you may take any four of the remaining modules. Just as with
the first four, you must receive an 80% or above to receive points.
Each module is worth 5 points, for a total of 20 bonus points. You have
until Week 7 to complete the bonus portion. If you were to take the required
assessment test and modules, plus the bonus modules, you would receive
a 45 out of 25. Remember, however, you must complete all the required
modules before doing the bonus modules, so if you don't finish the required
parts of this assignment, you not only lose points on that, but you also
lose any chance of receiving bonus points.
