The Spanish club is an informal group of students, teachers, and exchange students getting together to practice the Spanish language, and enjoy the Hispanic culture.  We encourage all levels of Spanish ability.

If you are interested in participating in different activities, please contact me to be added to the listserv  lalvarez@jccc.edu or see below for instructions to subscribe.

We are also looking for students to take leadership roles.  Let us know if you are interested in becoming an officer for Amigos sin Fronteras.  JCCC Student Activities will offer you opportunities for leadership development, leadership conferences, and other interesting activities.

Volunteers needed for the following activities: 

Tuesday, September 2nd Making salsa in GEB 133 (kitchen in the Hospitality Mgt school)  1-3 pm .  Help in with the food processor, packing, labeling, storing and getting it ready for the following day, cleaning up.

Wednesday ,  September 3rd  -- Campus KickOff  Day – Commons Plaza.  Amigos will have a table with signup sheets and activities flyer and will sell salsa as fundraiser.  Volunteers to staff the table 10-2 in one-hour shifts.

September 9th -- Día de Conversación – Converse with native speakers at your proficiency level.

 

September 23th  -- Presentation about Argentina-- Learn  fascinating facts about this amazing South American country.  Profe Sam Sommerville will lead the presentation.

 

October  7th  Día de Música --  Learn and listen to different styles of Latin music, learn simple songs and practice what you’ve learned.

 

October 21st Día de juegos – Play traditional games from the Spanish-speaking world like lotería (like Bingo), baraja (Spanish cards), and others.

 

November  18th  Día de comida – Learn and sample different foods from various Spanish-speaking countries.

Wednesday Oct. 15th.  Zumba workout!!  Corner Lounge 1.5 COM.  Wear comfortable clothes and be ready to sweat!!

 

Activities for all levels of proficiency.  Bring your friends!  Come any time, even if you can’t stay the entire time.
