JCCC Spanish Club
The Spanish club is an informal group of students, teachers, and exchange students getting together to practice the Spanish language, and enjoy the Hispanic culture. We encourage all levels of Spanish ability.
If you are interested in participating in different activities, please contact me to be added to the listserv lalvarez@jccc.edu or see below for instructions to subscribe.
We are also looking for students to take leadership roles. Let us know if you are interested in becoming an officer for Amigos sin Fronteras. JCCC Student Activities will offer you opportunities for leadership development, leadership conferences, and other interesting activities.

XVIII LATIN AMERICAN CINEMA FESTIVAL OF KANSAS CITY
Location: GEB 238(MCC Multicultural Center) 1:00-2:00 pm
All underlined events are at this location on Thursdays
September 10 - Día de Música - Learn and listen to different styles of Latin music, learn simple songs and practice what you’ve learned.
September 12 - Film and Tapas – Watch Arráncame la vida/ Tear my heart out 11:00 am at the Rio Theatre (80th and Metcalf, Overland Park, KS) followed by having Spanish Tapas at La Bodega at 2pm. Tapas are ½ off on Saturdays (703 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108-2124 (816) 472-8272)
September 24 - España Camisa Blanca - Learn facts about Spain. Presenter: Eugenio González, Spanish instructor
October 6 – 10:30 – NOON Make salsa for our fundraiser – Kitchen in OCB 155
October 7 - Salsa Fundraiser – will take place during the LUNA Latin Fiesta 11am -1pm at COM Plaza on campus
October 8 – “De músico, poeta y loco…” Arte Iberoamericano Presenter: Instructor Helene Perriguey-Keene
De músico, poeta y loco: La isla del encanto
October 22 - Día de Conversación - Converse with native speakers at your proficiency level.
November 5 - Día de juegos - Play traditional games from the Spanish-speaking world such as lotería (like Bingo), baraja (Spanish cards), and others.
December 3 - Día de comida – Learn about and sample different foods from various Spanish-speaking countries.
Zumba -- TBA
Activities for all levels of proficiency. Bring your friends! Come any time, even if you can’t stay the entire time.
