| This website provides artifacts for the Master of Library Science degree program through Emporia State University's School of Library and Information Management (SLIM). Artifacts are presented to demonstrate: MLS Program Outcomes The goal of the Master of Library Science program is to prepare creative problem solvers who will provide proactive client-centered services in information agencies. I have prepared for a career as a reference librarian in an academic community college or university library. I currently work in the student services area at Johnson County Community College where I have come to know well our student population and their diverse needs. My experiences in assisting students, teaching, management, and presenting information to students and adults in a variety of formats gives me a background in many areas to build upon for professional library work. I have an interest in cultural diversity, speak fluent Spanish and look forward to working with a diverse student population. The SLIM program has prepared me to succeed as a professional librarian. This portfolio demonstrates my knowledge, skills, and professional values as they relate to my theme of librarianship in an academic library. This portfolio is organized around the eight SLIM program outcomes. There is a link to each “Outcome” along with a brief explanation of how the artifact pertains to the Outcome. |
