Sample Informed Consent

Drs. Kami Day and Mary Pat McQueeney and their Composition II students want to ask you questions about your perceptions of the connections between Composition II and the writing that takes place after completion of that course.  Your participation should take less than 15 minutes.

The student researchers will know your identity as a result of your e-mail address and this informed consent statement, but your identity will be purged from any reporting of results. Your comments will be combined with information from other participants to provide an overall view of the findings. If your words are quoted, you will be given a pseudonym.  We ask, as you respond to questions, that you not identify any instructor by name in order to help keep the focus on learning connections rather than particular classroom experiences. 

Both the student researchers and the teacher investigators will make use of the findings of this study.  The results of this study will be reported in the classes conducting the study. The results also may be written up and presented in public forums such as conferences and journals.
