Social Security Tax
6.2% on the first $106,800 of gross earnings for the year.
Medicare Tax
1.45% on all gross earnings for the year.
Self-Employment Tax
15.3% on the first $106,800 of net earnings for the year, and
2.9% on net earnings in excess of $106,800 for the year.
Federal Unemployment Tax
Officially, 6.2% on the first $7,000 of gross earnings of each employee for the year, but if the employer is eligible for the 5.4% maximum credit for payment of state unemployment taxes, then the net rate is 0.8% on the first $7,000 of gross earnings of each employee for the year.
State (Kansas) Unemployment Tax
Rates vary from zero to 7.4%, depending on each employer's experience rating.  The rate is assessed on the first $8,000 of gross earnings of each employee for the year.
Federal Withholding Tax
